Article 1. Competition regulations

The regulation is drawn up and is made public according to the Romanian legislation, being available on the website The organizers reserve the right to modify or change the present Official Regulations, following that such changes will enter into force only after the publication of a prior notice of presentation of these changes on the website

Competition participants are required to comply with the terms and conditions of the Competition Regulation.

By registering for this competition, the participants agree to comply with and comply with all the provisions, terms and conditions of this Regulation.

Article 3. Getting the participation KIT

When getting the participation kit, each participant must sign the declaration of participation on their own responsibility. It is necessary to have the identity card (ID card or passport) on you. For children under 14 years of age the declaration will be signed by one of the parents. For minors between 14 and 18 years old, the declaration must be signed by both the participant and one of the parents.

 Article 4. General stipulations

The order of races is swimming, cycling and running.

All competitors must attend the technical session.

During the run and mountain bike races, competitors are allowed to throw plastic bottles, glasses, other packages, banana shells, etc. only in the area of ​​supply points. Failure to comply with this rule may result in disqualification of the competitor. The actions lacking fair play against the other competitors or the organizers will be penalized or may lead to the disqualification of the competitor / team at fault.

The competition will be considered as completed by a competitor or a team if all the triathlon races have been completed (all the checkpoints of each individual race have been reached). Participants can not leave the Fara Asfalt track route and can not change it. The participants have the obligation to respect the recommendations of the organizers regarding the complete course of the route, any attempt of fraud being sanctioned by disqualification. Disqualifying a member of a relay involves disqualifying the relay team. The maximum time to complete the contest is 5 hours from the start of the competition.

To the extent that the weather conditions, or any other external factors, will not allow the event to take place under optimal conditions for the participants, the organizers reserve the right to modify the track, to eliminate or to replace one or more races, depending on the situation.

Participation contribution

The contribution for participating in the triathlon is considered a donation and is not refundable.

Article 5. The competitions mechanism

5.1. Rules and regulations of the swimming trial

The competitors will swim outside the space marked by the organizers through buoys.

It is mandatory to wear the swimming cap from the participation kit.

Swimming with other auxiliary equipment is not allowed, except for the neoprene suit, cap and swimming goggles.

For water temperatures below 18 C, the organizers reserve the right to interrupt the swimming trial for competitors who exceed 30 minutes in the water. They can continue the competition, with a penalty of 15 minutes at the total time of the competition.

For water temperatures below 16 C, the neoprene suit is mandatory.

For water temperatures higher than 24 C, the neoprene suit is not allowed.

For water temperatures below 13 C or if there will be high waves, the swimming trial is not held.

The organizers will announce the water temperature before the competition.


5.2. Rules and regulations of the bike trial

Mandatory equipment:

  • Bike to match the track announced by the organizers
  • Bike helmet; competitors must wear the helment throughout the entire bike track,
    the bicycle helmet must be attached and tied before leaving the transition area. The offenses will be penalized with 1 minute of waiting at the exit of the transition area (penalty box).

For the portions of roads accesible to automobiles, the contestants are required to comply with the traffic rules. The offenses will be penalized with 1 minute.

The track will be marked thoughout it’s whole lenght. Exiting the track or missing a checkpoint will automatically disqualify the competitor/team.

The organizers are not responsible for the damage that may occur to competitors’ bikes.

In case of a fault or damage, the competitor can fix the bike on it’s own, with the aid of another competitor or with the aid of the Fara Asfalt organizing team. No outside help is allowed.

It is forbidden to pass the bicycle race with another cyclist who is not part of the competition.

The competition number received in the participation kit must be mounted on the bike’s handlebars.

The track will be marked throughout it’s whole length.


5.3. Rules and regulation of the running trial

Exiting the track of missing a checkpoint will automatically disqualify the competitor/team.

The competition number will be worn in the front, visibly.

The contestant must comply with the traffic rules and civic conduct troughout the whole track.

5.4. Transition area

The transition area will be set up on the road that leads to Micul Golf. The contestants who participate at the whole triathlon or  two relay trials will leave their equipment in the transition area. The transition area will have an entry gate and an exit gate; the flow of movement in the transition is one way only (from the entry gate towards the exit gate). It is strictly forbidden to ride the bike in the transition areas.

After each trial, the contestant will leave the used equipment in the transition area. Each contestant will leave the equipment in the space marked with his/her competition number.

In the transition area, the contestants will change their equipment without disturbing the other contestants’ equipment.

The bike will be left on the bike rack, while the other equipment will be placed next to the bike, without entering the traffic space or another contestant’s space.

Violation of any of the rules mentioned above for the transition zone will be penalized with 1 minute waiting at the exit of the transfer zone (penalty box).

No outside help is allowed for any of the maneuvers made in the transition areas (removing the neoprene suit, suiting up for the bike trial, etc.). Only contestants, BGS  security team members and Fara Asfalt organizers are allowed inside the transition areas. Relay team members will have a separate space to make the transfer.

Outside help is not allowed for any of the operations in the transition areas (neoprene suit, bicycle kit, etc.). The access of the competitors in the transition area will be made only on the basis of the number of the competitor. Also, in the transition zones the guard and protection team and the members of the Fara Asfalt team will have access. Competitors in a relay will have a separate space where the transfer will take place.

For both the Triathlon and relay competitors, the transition zone will open at 7:30 am in the morning of the competition and will close at 9:00 am (in this interval the competitors must leave their equipment in the transition area and to prepare for the start). To take over the equipment after the completion of the three races, the transition area will open at 1:30 pm.

The exchange in the relay will be made exclusively at the stand allocated to each team, all participants in this race will travel the same distance from entering the exchange area of ​​the relays and to leaving this area, according to the flow defined by the organizers. Any deviation will be penalized with 1 minute of waiting (penalty box). At the time of the start, the competitors in the bike race for the relay must be at the place of exchange (the booth with their competition number) and wait there for the colleague who does the swimming test for the pole. After the start time, the transition zone for the pole will be closed (cyclists will not be able to enter). Competitors who run the race in a relay will be able to enter the stand starting with 10:30 am and will occupy the space in front of the stand with their competition number.

Supporters access in the transition area is strictly forbidden and may result in penalizing the competitor.


5.5. Ranking

The awarding will be made on the evening of the contest day, based on a provisional ranking. The final ranking will be published on the site within 48 hours after the end of the competition.

  1. Triathlon

There will be two types of ranking:

The “open” ranking with the places 1-5 for male or female categories. The “open” ranking will contain the contestants with the best times from the contest, regardless of age. Prizes consisting in money will be offered  for the “open” category of the triathlon.

Age group ranking; the age groups are as follows: 13-15, 16-19, 20-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60<; the ranking will be done for male and female separately. The age groups 30-34 and 35-39, 40-44 and 45-49, 50-54 and 55-59 will become 30-39, 40-49 and 50-59 respectively if at the end of the sign-up period, in one of the categories will be less than 5 competitors for a category (M/F).

  1. Relay

The ranking will be done according to the categories feminine, masculine, and mixed for all relays with the total age of less than 140 years (the ages in years of all the relay team members will be added), family relay.

For relay teams with a total age above 140 years, a separate “open” ranking will be made.

Important: for the ranking according to age groups, the age that the contestant has or will have in 2020 will be taken into account.

If a competitor goes through two trials (eg: bike + running, swimming + bicycle, etc.) his age is doubled in the age calculation for the team he is in.

Article 6. Disclaimer

The organizers assume no responsibility regarding the misuse of personal equipment or the use by the contestants of inadequate equipment for the event.

The participants are required to comply with the organizers’ recommendations regarding the signing up  and submission at finish for registration, as well as the full completion of the track, any attempt of defraud being punishable by disqualification.

The attendance at the Fara Asfalt Triathlon is done on each participant’s account. The organizer shall be relieved of any liability for injuries or any other incidents of medical nature incurred by participants during the course of the entire event.

Organizers are not obliged to verify the information and documents provided by participants on signing up in the competition and will not be liable for the accuracy and corectness of the said information and documents. If proof is found that the sign-up to the event was done by fraud, the contestant is disqualified or the registration at the event is canceled, as appropriate.

Medical staff during the race at all trials will be provided by ambulance equipped with resuscitation equipment and trained medical personnel.

In accordance with the law, organizers are required to make public the names of the winners and the prizes awarded in this event. The winners’ list will be published on the site

The organizers are also obliged to comply with Law no. 677/2001 on the protection of personal data. Therefore, the organizers are committed to safeguarding the privacy of participants’ personal data at this competition and to use this Rules and Regulation and the law in force.

We inform you that the event is a public one that is recorded video / photo.

Personal data – name, first name, date of birth, sex and place of origin – will be kept by ACS Fara Asfalt until December 31, 2020.

The organizers undertake no obligation to bear any other costs or expenses incurred by the competitor in order to participate in the event, apart from the participation contribution. The participation contribution is not refundable.

Article 7. Data protection

Your personal data is collected by the Association Fara Asfalt Sports Club with headquarters in Str. Banu Manta, no. 5, et. M, ap.2, sector 1, Bucharest, which is represented by Tudor Vlad, the address to which you can send us your questions and requests.

By entering the competition, all participants automatically authorize the organizers, including the event’s partners, to use and reproduce any audio-video material or statement containing images with the participants. The organizers may give these materials to a third person, without the approval of the participants; this freedom can be exercised for any period of time and is valid internationally.

In order to register in the competitions organized by our Association we ask you the following personal data: name, first name, date of birth, sex and place of origin. When the competitor is your child, we ask you, as parents / legal representatives the following data: legal representative’s name and surname, legal representative’s email, legal representative’s telephone, legal representative’s locality, child’s legal name and surname, child’s birth date, child’s gender.

These personal data is necessary for your identification and contact, for the registration and validation of the winners.

We process your personal data in accordance with the provisions of the Regulation on the protection of  persons regarding the processing of personal data no. 579/2016 (art. 6 paragraph (1) letter a).

The data you provide to us will not be disclosed to any other entity, company or person and will not be transferred to another country or organization. We will keep the data you provided to us, for the canceled edition from May 30th, 2020, until December 31, 2020.

You have the following rights regarding your personal data that you provide to us:

  • ask us to confirm if we process your data, correct it, delete it, suspend data processing, and transfer it to an operator of your choice and the right to object at any time to this processing;
  • you have the right to withdraw the consent you have given us to process your data at any time. The legal character of the processing we have carried out until the withdrawal of the consent will not be affected by the subsequent withdrawal of the consent;
  • you have the right to file a complaint with the National Supervisory Authority for the Processing of Personal Data;

You have no legal or contractual obligation to provide us with your personal data, but if you choose not to provide them, you will not be able to register on the platform.

The data provided will not be used to make any automatic decision regarding you and we do not intend to use them for purposes other than those stated above.
